The German national team duo of Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabryhave had to self-isolate after coming in contact with Bayern Munich and German national team colleague NicklasSule. Musiala and Gnabry had to go into isolation after Sule tested positive for COVID-19.

The good news for the German champions is that the two aforementioned players are back in training after missing the two Germany games during this international break and they are in contention ahead of the Bundesliga clash between Bayern Munich and Augsburg.

Apart from Gnabry and Musiala, Bayern Munich players such as German international Joshua Kimmich and Cameroon attacker Eric Choupo-Moting also had to isolate themselves after coming in contact with Sule. Kimmich is expected to join the likes of Musiala, Gnabry and others in Bayern Munich training later this week as they step up preparation for the Augsburg game at the weekend. Choupo-Moting will most likely be involved as well after he joined up with his country for their second game in this November international break.

For Sule, the Bayern Munich defender is showing mild symptoms of COVID-19 and he’s unlikely to make it in time for the league outing with Augsburg. His participation in the Champions League clash with Spanish La Liga side Barcelona next week is also in serious doubt.

Sule has been a mainstay in the Bayern Munich defender this season and his potential absence for the Augsburg and Barcelona games would leave a vacuum in defence for the German champions. Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann is likely to turn to the French duo of Lucas Hernandez and DayotUpamecanoat the heart of his defence in the absence of Sule.
