Blackburn Rovers secured a much needed win over Milton Keynes

Blackburn Rovers claimed a 3-2 triumph against Milton Keynes and this was the 7th league victory of Paul Lambert’s team who are struggling just to survive for another season in the English Championship League.

This match was a battle between 2 clubs that are trying to escape the bottom relegation zone and it was a tightly contested game where both sides scored goals in each half and just when it seemed like it was going to finish in a 2-2 draw, Jordi Gomez found the back of the net at the last minute which edged the victory towards the team of Paul Lambert.

Jordi Gomez is currently performing for Blackburn Rovers on a loan deal which lasts until the remainder of the season but the Spanish midfielder recently has been receiving praise from the head coach Paul Lambert who complimented him after scoring the winning goal that secured the triumph and all 3 points in favor of Blackburn Rovers and Lambert lauded the late goal from Jordi Gomez as the Scottish manager said:

“Oh for goodness sake, it was world class. I mean as good as Payet’s was here the other week that was up there with it. That was an absolute genuine world-class free kick. Jordi Gomez, as I said before, has been terrific. Jordi plays the game as if it’s really natural to him all top players do that. He’s technically excellent on the ball. Even his first goal was a brilliant header. The second goal was genuine world class. We’re thankful that Sunderland have let him come on loan.’’

The main reason of why Jordi Gomez joined Blackburn Rovers was to get playing time as he was not getting any with Sunderland and Gomez has now managed to become a consistent starting player for Blackburn Rovers and if Gomez continues making impressive performances with the English League Championship League club, there might be a chance that Blackburn Rovers decide to secure the services of the Spanish player on a permanent deal as Gomez does not play any important role with his parent club Sunderland.
